Chez Reel’s journey into music began at home, deeply influenced by his father — a passionate drummer in Africa. Alongside his brothers, he grew up playing his father’s records, immersed in Afro, soul, and funk sounds. In the early 1990s, a new wave of music arrived from the United States, hip hop and house. While many gravitated toward hip hop, Chez Reel was naturally drawn to house music, following a different path from the crowd.

In 1991, he started working weekends at a flea market, where he discovered the renowned Momo Records shop. That encounter marked the beginning of his vinyl collection. By 1995, he acquired his first Technics MK2 turntables, and from that moment on, his passion for house music continued to grow stronger.
